Bonding Agent Techniques

Clinician Report's years of experience have found the following techniques to make a significant difference in getting the best results from bonding agents.

Techniques

• Scrubbing in two applications of 5% glutaraldehyde/35% HEMA solution (such as Gluma by Heraeus Kulzer or MicroPrime G by Danville Materials).
• Use self etching bonding agents to lower sensitivity.
• Still etch enamel.
• Do not air dry tooth, only HVAC to reduce sensitivity & increase bond strength.
• Two coats of bond cured separately.
• Scrub bonding agent.
• Air thin film.
• Half cure bond.
• Must use dual cure bond for posts.
• Watch shelf life and refrigerate stock.
