All current sensors do very well. Each office must decide for themselves which meets their needs. Current recommendation include:

Recommendation & Reasoning

• Nomad (Preferred as two units can serve up to up to 5+ providers at a time, lowest cost of maintenance, and provides for best esthetic, non-threatening operatory design)
• Progeny (Best wall mount unit as it has best combination of: esthetic design, reliability, & price)
• SuniRay (CMOS sensors are more consistent and forgiving across patients than older CCD, thinnest sensor, & ¼ cost of any other sensor $2,500 vs. $10,000)
• Apteryx (Open source, can use with any brand of sensor and intraoral camera. Allows office to not be locked into technology, supplier, or rep which equals better quality, price, & choice)
