Before vs. After the Shot

Before the shot, we are more firm about many things.  After the patient has received a shot, it would not be fair to bring up something that was not previously informed. This is part of true "Informed Consent."

An example of this is the old "Dental Select Lab Fee".  We can tell the patient about this fee right up until the moment before they get a shot. After the shot, we should write it off if we did not previously inform the patient of it.

Before the shot, we must stick to the rules and make sure payment arrangements have been made.  After the shot, we can offer options we would normally not allow.
