Billing Burden of Proof

When we send out a bill or ask for a payment from a patient, we should first ask ourselves if we understand what they are being billed for and if the amount looks right.  Treat the bill and amounts as if they where your own bill.  We should only ask the patient to pay after we are sure of the bill, the amount, and can clearly explain it.
