Cascade Family Dental saw its first patient on Jan 2, 2008. The office opened under the name Aspen Family Dental with 5 employees: Robert and Angela Baird, Gwen Dowse, Chelsea Jepperson, and Katie Nelson. The office began with 3 operatories As we were only open 20 hours a week, Angela answered the phones from home so it would look like we were open full-time while trying to keep the kids quiet in the background.

The innovative, high tech, patient centered model was well received by Payson. Within the first 6 months Dr Baird quite his part time job in Salt Lake and devoted his full-time attention to Payson. By Month 7, the office was busy enough to bring on Dr Nathan Johnson part time and we finished two more operatories By the end of the first year, both Dr Johnson and Baird were working full time in the Payson Office.

These were fun yet very busy days. There is a lot of design and work needed to take the conceptual plans built up over 10 years of Dr Baird’s Dental and Business school training and implant these ideas into an office. Every month, the schedule changed as we were always adding hours to try to keep up with demand. Those first employees saw many changes as they went from unpacking boxes in the first weeks to the now controlled chaos we are all used to.

The next two years were spent by Doctors Johnson and Baird refining the processes and the formulas that make us who we are today.

In the Fall of 2009, we had reached our capacity. We had a choice to make: either limit our growth and area of influence, or take the company to the next level where it could continue its growth and expand its influence in the community, the team members and their families lives, and the industry. We have never been ones to limit our possibilities, so a leap was made.

Preparations began in late 2010 to open a second office in Springville, Utah, and the groundwork began for the creation of the franchise that would facilitate other doctors coming into the network. Springville opened for business in August of 2010. At this same time, Dr. Baird and Johnson were introduced to Dr. Strong who was looking to come back to Utah. He was a perfect fit; he had great experience, knowledge, and a personality that everyone loved.

In February of 2011, the franchise was created and Dr. Johnson and Strong were the first doctors to take the leap of faith and buy in as its first partners. The creation of the franchise necessitated the name change to Cascade Family Dental. Shortly after, Dr. Flinders was added to the Springville team to help that office grow.

2011 was a very busy year as each month new pieces of the franchise framework were rolled out and implemented. The team members and partners were amazing as they exercised patience and helped mold the processes and systems. Enough can’t be said about all those team members and Doctors who sacrificed and contributed so much of there insight to create this great thing we all share today!

2012: In September, Dr Donny Allred joined our team!

2013: In August, Dr Ashley Heid joined our team!

2014: The first week in May we closed the Payson office for a week and moved to our brand new building increasing that office from 5 operatories to 8

In June 2014, Cascade Headquarters moved to their first official location above the new Payson Office. This gave them 5 full time office cubicles, a private office, and large table for board meetings!

In August 2014, Dr Joe Winward joined our team!
