Medicaid Policies
Medicaid presents unique challenges that require a few unique policy adaptations.
Insurance Verification
- Each month, make sure their insurance is still active by going to respective webpage.
Insurance Notes
- Often Medicaid is coverage for children, pregnant women, and the disabled.
- Pregnant women are covered for one month after delivery.
- If they also have Medicare, there is a program they can apply for which may give them $500 or $1000 a year.
- Their case workers can often backdate coverage if asked.
Other
- No payment plans other than CareCredit.
- We do accept Medicaid as 2ndary insurance. However, follow primary insurance and collect deductible, as long as Medicaid fee is covered pt is not required to pay copays. If Medicaid doesn't over procedure, follow what primary insurance dictates for copays.
- Medicaid does not get to use any coupons or offers including No free bleaching trays (They pay $50 as already entered in their fee schedule).
- They can have take home bleaching for $50 to cover our costs.
