Below is a list of duties that are assigned to the assistants. Others may help but this person is responsible. Assistants should regularly review this list at least every quarter during their regular performance review.

Primary Duties
1. Prepare for the next patient.2. Concierge your patient.
3. Finish notes, cleanup, and follow-up.
4. Help other assistants and hygienists.
5. Quadrant II projects (task list & checklist).
6. Review Handbook/CE.
Detailed List

- Keep sterilization cycle moving.
- Prepare operatory for procedures.
- Greet patients with the receptionist (enter notes while waiting).
- Ask if medical history has changed.
- Enter treatment plans into computer.
- Assist the doctor with all his appointments.
- Schedule next appointment and recall.
- Prepare post op treatment slips and doctor patient checklist.
- Check patients out in the operatory and walk to pt coordinator or out the door.
- Clean up operatory, enter chart notes.
- Prepare laboratory items.
- Answer the phone on the third ring.
- Keep parking lot/exterior of building clear of trash and shopping carts.
- Sign for and receive packages.
- Go to Wal-Mart once per week to buy supplies.
- Make NTI, bleaching trays, model work.
- Monitor incoming lab items and Dr. checking quality.
- Receive, stock, and tag supply shipments.
- Stock the lab, endo forms, and reminder cards.
- Clean the staff room.
- Clean sterilization.
- Clean both bathrooms.
- Take out the trash.
- Sweep the floor.
- Vacuum the office.
- General housekeeping duties.
- Inspect the interior of our building.
- Change light bulbs.
- Clean/organize lab.
- Monitor internal lab progress.
- Verify all equipment is off at the end of the day (operatory lights, water button, NO2, etc…)
